A new mold is recommended when your product shape is central to your brand identity, you require exclusive ownership, or you are planning long-term series production. Existing mold customization is generally the more efficient route when time to market is critical, investment needs to remain controlled, or an existing shape already meets your functional requirements. If you are uncertain, share your brief and we will recommend the most practical route.
Can I start from an AI render, product sketch or reference photo?
Yes. Most clients come to us without technical drawings. We develop production-ready engineering files – 2D drawings or 3D models – from renders, sketches, reference images, or physical samples, subject to feasibility review. Professional buyers with their own technical drawings can skip this stage entirely.
When is a custom mold worth the investment?
A custom mold becomes commercially justified when your planned production volumes, long-term product roadmap, or brand differentiation requirements outweigh the initial tooling cost. For premium packaging categories – fragrance, cosmetics, luxury spirits – a proprietary shape often becomes a durable brand asset that appreciates over time. The fastest route is existing mold with decoration – no tooling development, no mold fabrication. If you need a new shape, having your own technical drawings ready at project start significantly shortens the development timeline. Which decoration techniques suit my product?
Technique selection depends on the product category, surface geometry, production volume, intended use, and budget. Silk-screen printing suits flat or cylindrical surfaces for premium multi-color graphics. Acid frosting creates a matte luxury finish. Hot foil stamping adds a metallic or tactile quality suited to premium positioning. Spray coating delivers full-body color coverage.
